The Highlands Ability Battery (HAB) will help your high school student in a number of ways. First, they will learn how they learn (this is called metacognition). Metacognitive strategies take time to develop. The HAB provides an intentional approach to self-awareness, and limits the trial/error process of learning. Next, they will be able to process what their natural abilities are to move toward creating a unique profile for college applications. As a former college recruiter, this is very important.
For recent college graduates, the HAB can help them move within their career field with confidence. The more you know about yourself and your natural abilities, the more meaningful the work experience can be. The HAB offers extensive information that can help focus a new graduate in building a career.
What your student does in the next 4-or 5- years can determine how much is invested in college and can reduce the need to change majors, which takes up valuable time. Students can spend energy seeking internships and summer volunteer opportunitites that align with their natural abilities.
